I am blessed to live in Melbourne Beach, Florida, where I have access to the beaches, several state parks, tropical trails, many birding wetlands, and hiking trails. It’s easy to practice nature journaling in the peaceful outdoors here. I also love the wooded mountains of Western Maryland near my children and grandchildren.
I retired from 30 years of teaching secondary English at all grade and ability levels, including college. For 20 years, I taught Language A Literature, Higher Level, in the International Baccalaureate Program at Sebastian River High School in Sebastian, Fl. I have a Master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Central Florida, and I’m a National Board Certified Teacher in Adolescent and Young Adult Language Arts. I do workshops for students, teachers, and I’ve presented Imagine Outside at two National Council of Teachers of English Conventions.
Imagine Outside, Inc. is an educational nonprofit that provides free lessons and materials for incorporating nature journaling into the secondary English classroom. Please support us with a donation of any size. Again, thank you for all of your help.
Please contact Susan for information about workshops for students, teachers, and others who enjoy “imagining outside.”
